Dodge City of McKinney and the Mustang Million

When you think about wild horses, you most likely have a vision of a herd running free in the open Wild West terrain.  Horses played a huge role in America’s history from Spanish explorers, to western expansion and even providing recreational opportunities today.  Horses are national treasures, and that is why Dodge City of McKinney was proud to be the RAM Rodeo sponsor for the Mustang Million event by the Mustang Heritage Foundation.

The Mustang Heritage Foundation’s mission is to increase successful adoptions of wild horses and works with horsemen and –women who have the knowledge, experience and facilities to gentle and/or train a wild horse.

Adopters recently took place in the $1,000,000 Mustang Million event where more than 200 checks were paid out in 18 classes with cash and prizes totaling $1,000,000. The week of exciting competition in Fort Worth, Texas came to a fantastic end with the crowning of the Mustang Million Legends Division Champion. Tom Hagwood of Torrington, Wymoming and his Mustang gelding, Merv were given a check for $200,000 and a 2014 RAM Truck for their efforts.

Tom and his wife have a working cattle ranch in Wyoming and winning the event was certainly life-changing for them. Dodge City of McKinney is proud to sponsor the Mustang Million and very pleased to give a big Congratulations to Mr. Hagwood and his mustang, Merv!
